Our trip to Australia
was quite the experience. Katie did really well considering. Gravol works wonders :) she wasn't even too scared of the bathrooms on board the aeroplane. She was quite scared of the first aeroplane in Smithers when we left but we took out the portable dvd player right away and put on the Koala Brothers a movie she has about Australian animals and she settled right down. She slept the most out of all of us and even slept at Sydney airport where we had to wait for most of the next day. In Perth Steph's parents were there to pick us up on a 42 degree day and we were dressed in our jeans and had sweaters and jackets with us so it felt awful. Didnt sleep much the first few nights but figured it would begin to get better once we settled in. Katie is still waking up at 7 am every morning and is napping almost every day, which is unsual.
We drove down to Albany a few days after arriving in W.A and spent lovely relaxing days there with Stephs parents, trying to get out most days and see the sights. Ed and Richard came down and stayed with us for the weekend. On the 8th March we left Albany and drove via the South West to Busselton and stayed here for two nights.

Hi Derek and Steph, what gorgeous photos! So glad to see something of your travels, thanks a lot. Some of the places look a bit familiar. that Kookaburra photo is a real winner. Not sure what the last photo is, rocks or trees?
Looks like you are having a lovely time, another 2 weeks to go. Its getting milder here, crocuses are up. Hope to see you soon, love mom
Hi Mom!
was wondering if you would recognise some of the places.. The last photo is actually rocks at Elephant Rocks, close by William Bay.
Awesome to hear that things are heading into Spring over there. Tomorrow we head down to Albany again and then fly on the 26th to Sydney. Its been really nice seeing old friends again. But for now that is over and today we headed up to Yanchep National Park and saw Koalas and visited a cave with Richard.
Time has gone by really fast. Can't believe we'll be seeing you that soon.. till then, love D,S&K

Gorgeous pictures!
Katie is getting so big - i saw a beautiful picture of her at Helen's the other day - she is so cute! And looks like you guys enjoyed Australia - makes me miss it (even though i was only ever there once...) Greetings from Southern Ontario...
Hi Danielle, We think Katie is cute too!! but we are kinda biased :) What picture was that of Katie that Helen had? we sure had an awesome time in Aus. Seems quite along time ago already now. Your trip was ages ago that you made to Aus hey. Time for another trip down there. I would suggest New Zealand or another part of Aus. Lovely to visit for sure. But we are so glad to be back home and feel that Smithers is definately home now!!
Hope you are well. I love keeping up with your blog and your sisters too. she's gonna be busy with two little boys and another bub on the way. How are your parents doing? pass on our greetings to them as well. with love from Smithers
